Withholding Tax

This Unit is monitoring ​withholding taxes on interest income and collection of Construction Industry Guarantee Fund Levy (CIGFL) on every construction contract enforced in Sri Lanka.

The main activities of Unit

• Advisory and Assistance Services
• Registration of CIGFL.
• Registration of institutions which are entitled to deduct withholding tax and remit to the Department.
• Issuing Returns and  Paying-in-Slips
• Collecting of Returns, Schedules and Paying-in-Slips.
• Issuing Directions for withholding tax.
• Providing relevant information to other respective units.​
• Issuing guidelines to the public.
